We'd like to continue to introduce ourselves-- the team behind Goldenrod! Here is a Q&A with Emily Steinwehe, one of our Montessori Assistants.

1. How did you find Montessori?
I was ready for a change after working in the field of environmental education for 22 years. Throughout this time, I worked at various nature centers and camps teaching lessons on glaciers, orienteering, pond life, insects, habitats, and more! In 2017 I began working at a local Montessori school, and I haven’t looked back since.
2. What is it about the age group you work with that really resonates with you?
The age group I work with varies from infants to primary students. I most enjoy seeing the babies and toddlers grow and change so quickly! It's also exciting when they learn new words.
3. What’s one of your favorite subjects to learn about with students?
My favorite subjects are: science, gardening and nature education! I enjoy taking the children on nature walks. I'm always trying to get them to notice the wildlife and plants around us!
4. Can you share a favorite memory from the classroom?
My favorite memory is teaching students to say pawpaw.
5. When you’re not in the classroom, what are you most likely to be doing?
When I'm not in the classroom, I'm reading or gardening!
